My contrabassoon is built by Kohlert, probably in 1949. The instrument has two serial numbers, but neither of them can be reliably traced. Kohlert relocated in 1949 and started using different serial numbers. Although not sure, it is possible that a second serial number was giving to the instrument do to the relocation of the workshop, which also suggests that the instrument was built in 1949.
